Brand mascots rarely get to go quiet. The pages that perform are the ones that never stop: right trend, right timing, right format, every single day. Milla, the ant behind the Regina Camomilla Facebook page, had not posted since 9 May 2024. We made that silence the opening of the story instead of hiding it, and built her return around a departure: with Un mondo di delicatezza (A world of delicacy), Milla goes back online to travel the planet and discover how people from other cultures take care of themselves.

CHALLENGE

How do you bring a mascot back after more than a year offline without pretending the gap never happened? The community had noticed the absence, and any relaunch that skipped over it would have started from a false note. The pause also had to mean something that fit the brand: Milla had not written a book, she had not climbed the Himalaya, she had simply disconnected to reconnect with herself. Coming back, she was going to be the social media manager of the page, which raised a second question: what does a very human, slightly out-of-sync ant have that a performance-oriented content plan doesn't? Empathy, sensitivity, transparency, and a kind of delicacy that brings people together. Then there was a hard production constraint. The image bank available to tell Milla's travels was minimal, a handful of existing assets, nowhere near enough to place her in Japan, in the Maldives, or in a country picked by the people who follow her.

SOLUTION

We started from the silence. Milla returns curious, poetic, a little dazzled by the world, and she returns with a purpose: collecting the delicate gestures that different cultures use to take care of themselves, and bringing them back to the feed one country at a time.

The relaunch opens in two moves. In the teaser, Milla reappears after months and is already leaving again: she has bought a plane ticket to an unnamed destination, and the caption says nothing more than goodbye. In the reveal, a first Reel discloses the plan and the first stop, Japan, turning a comeback into a departure the community can follow.

From there, the page settles into a monthly rhythm of recurring formats. Some collect the delicate gestures Milla finds abroad, others hand part of her itinerary to the community or bring familiar faces from the Regina Camomilla world into the plot, while a further strand invites people to try something gentle for a week and report back. The product appears the way a traveller would use it, without ever interrupting the story. Different entry points, one recurring promise.

Generative AI turned the production constraint into a creative one. Instead of limiting the story to the images we had, we produced Milla's world with AI, which lets her stand anywhere on the map and lets the community's suggestions actually change where she goes next. The technology serves the narrative promise: an itinerary written together, in real time.

Today Milla posts again, and every stop turns a paper attribute into something people can practise. A world of delicacy, one country at a time.
