Cotral is the leading operator of intercity public transportation in the Lazio region, serving millions of passengers each year. Of these, 82% access the website via mobile devices, looking for essential travel information quickly and effortlessly.

The goal was clear: to create a mobile-first, fully responsive website that puts passengers and their needs at the center. The platform had to be easy to navigate, optimized for daily use, and capable of offering:

  • always up-to-date schedules and routes;
  • real-time notifications on service status;
  • an intuitive interface that makes the digital experience simple and distraction-free.
Need
We began the project by thoroughly analyzing Cotral's needs and those of its users to create a website entirely redesigned with a user-centric approach. The aim was to ensure optimized navigation and make services easily and immediately accessible. The features already present on the old platform were improved and streamlined, reducing complex operations to just a few intuitive steps.

The site’s content was reorganized through a strategically designed information architecture, removing unnecessary elements and highlighting the most useful information for passengers. The design was conceived as mobile-first, featuring a clean, minimalistic aesthetic enriched with the brand’s distinctive colors and intuitive icons to guide users seamlessly through the interface.

To strengthen the connection with passengers, we adopted a warm and reassuring tone of voice aligned with the brand's language, accompanying users every step of the way and reinforcing their trust. Thanks to this digital transformation, the new website is not only an informative tool but also a digital assistant designed to enhance the travel experience—from the first click to the final destination.
