We partnered with Pordenone to tell the city’s untold story during its bid for the Italian Capital of Culture 2027. Our mission was to craft a vibrant brand identity capable of capturing the city’s spirit of surprise and showcasing its rich history, diverse cultural events and unexpected charm.

CHALLENGE

Pordenone needed a bold visual identity that could communicate its diverse cultural scene and distinct character as a candidate for Italian Capital of Culture. The challenge was twofold: to spotlight a dynamic city that was often overlooked, and to make its presence immediately memorable across both digital and physical platforms, while ensuring the design’s adaptability.

Starting with the insight that Pordenone is a city full of surprises, we built a brand identity rooted in the idea of discovery. We created a striking visual language, featuring:

  • a unique design concept: a vibrant color palette and bold, modern typography set the tone, emphasizing impact and depth;

  • the iconic 3D ‘P’: a signature element that shifts between perspectives — from flat to multi-dimensional — symbolizing the hidden cultural layers waiting to be explored;

  • versatile logotype: an adaptable logo, suited for any format (vertical, horizontal, abbreviated), featuring a locally sourced typeface that adds a contemporary, regional touch;

  • unified social guidelines: clear guidelines to maintain consistent, engaging storytelling across social channels, amplifying Pordenone’s campaign for the title.
